Hiking in Idyllwild California
Earlier in December my amazing friend, Stacy from Sylver Weddings and Events, her daughter Morgan, and I went out on a fun adventure hiking in Idyllwild, California!
Both Stacy and I love to go hiking and exploring so we made it our goal this year to at least go hiking together once a month!
We also both absolutely adore the little town of Idyllwild, CA! The small town charm and the stunning mountain scenery surrounding it is just incredible!!! So for this hiking adventure we decided to go hiking in Idyllwild!!!
The San Jacinto River South Fork Trail:
We hiked on the San Jacinto River South Fork trail. Which is a 4.6 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail that’s actually located just before Idyllwild near Mountain Center, California.
It features a river at the very end of the trail, which we didn’t quite make it to, and is considered an easy hike!
The San Jacinto River South Fork trail is also dog friendly!!! We got to stop and play with a fellow hikers adorable dog while we were hiking in Idyllwild that day!
Another perk for this hike is that you get some cell service throughout it. Or at least I did with Verizon! I was able to talk to my sweet husband on the phone for a short bit while he’s on deployment! Which I’m SO thankful for!
Throughout our hike on the San Jacinto River South Fork trail we only met one other hiker on the trail! So it wasn’t overly crowded and we were able to leisurely enjoy our hike at our own pace!
On this trail you’re not surrounded by the towering tree’s like you would be on other trails in Idyllwild. Instead you get a wide open view of the mountains surrounding it and you can stop frequently along the way to sit on top of a boulder to just take it all in!
I absolutely LOVED the peacefulness of the San Jacinto River South Fork trail and definitely recommend this hiking trail in Idyllwild!!!
