7 Fun Things to do in Las Vegas
Earlier this month I made a short two day trip out to Las Vegas with my photographer friend, Dustin, to photograph a beautiful wedding out at Red Rock Canyon!
It was so beautiful and so fun that I wanted to share with you some fun things to do in Las Vegas that we did while we were there!
Red Rock Canyon!
One of my all time favorite fun things to do in Las Vegas is to go see Red Rock Canyon! I haven’t yet had the chance to hike all the way through it but just driving down the road around it is breathtaking!
There are a few places along the road that you can park your car and go hiking from, which I’ve done in the past and loved it! You can even spot wild donkeys out in the desert while you’re there!
This time though when we visited Red Rock Canyon we photographed a beautiful wedding overlooking the beautiful Red Rock mountains! You can see the photos from the wedding here!
If you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas I HIGHLY recommend making the short drive out to see this beautiful place and to take the day exploring it!
The Las Vegas Sign!
Another one of the more typical fun things to do in Las Vegas would be to visit the historic Las Vegas sign! Even though it’s a little cliche to visit it, it only takes 10 minutes to stop and take a photo with it!
One of the fun things about seeing the Las Vegas sign is that you never know what you’ll see while you’re here. Last time when I stopped to see it a few years ago, my husband and I got to watch a beautiful couple get married under the sign.
This time my friend, Dustin, and I seen a person in a pink whale costume taking photos with the sign!
The Fremont Street Experience!
This is another one of my favorite fun things to do in Las Vegas!!!! I LOVE Fremont Street! What I love the most about Fremont Street is the variety of things you can do and see while you’re there! I also love that it’s not as overly crowded like the Las Vegas Strip is!
There’s so much to do here on Fremont Street. Ziplining, casino’s, restaurants, bars, shopping, small concerts, artists creating artwork, people making music! It’s simply incredible!
One of the artists that we got to see on this trip was a spray painting artist! Before this trip I had only ever seen videos of the beautiful artwork that these artists can do, but I was able to see it up close this time! I was so moved by it and loved being able to see him actually create it that the artwork you see him creating is now currently hanging in my home!
While we were walking down Fremont Street and taking photos, of course we had some cool guys who decided they wanted to drop in for a photobomb! I still can’t stop laughing over it! So random, yet so funny!
Fremont Street East!
We walked down both the regular part of Fremont Street and Fremont Street East!
Down Fremont Street East we got to see a really cool piece of artwork!
A giant metal praying mantis that shoots fire to the beat of the music! We were told that this giant metal praying mantis was also at one of the Burning Man events this year! As if it wasn’t already awesome enough!
So if you’re making a trip to Las Vegas and you want to take in the Vegas scene, party, and have fun without dealing with the clutter of the Strip, then I definitely recommend you check out Fremont Street!
The Commonwealth Cocktail Bar on Fremont Street East!
When I come to Vegas I don’t always like going to the clubs. Simply because they’re SO crowded, the drinks are crazy expensive, and it takes forever to get them.
My favorite bar in Vegas that I’ve found so far is the Commonwealth Cocktail Bar on Fremont Street East!
This bar is not only fun, but gorgeous on the inside and feels more like a modern, chic style hometown bar!
Before 10 PM they have live music inside the bar. After 10 PM they open the rooftop bar for people to enjoy the view while listening + dancing to a DJ.
I absolutely LOVE the vibe of this place and definitely recommend it!
Fear the Walking Dead Experience on Fremont Street!
For those of you who are as obsessed with the Walking Dead as I am you HAVE to do this fun tour! I’m terrified of zombies and scary things, especially after dark, but this tour was SO worth it!
They have it set up to be a realistic scenario from the actual movie itself. Scanners to see how “infected” you are, holding cells to make sure you don’t turn, zombies, people “dying”, hanging dead bodies, and everything!
At the end we got to play a video game type thing to shoot zombies to “get out of the compound” too! Dustin and I got the highest scores! He got 80,000 and I got 60,000!
It was absolutely exhilarating and I may have screamed like a girl a few times!
DEFINITELY recommend it though! SO much fun!
Kung Fu Tea!
I’m normally a coffee person and don’t drink too much tea but Kung Fu Tea was pretty good! I’ve never seen this many different kinds of tea before in my life and it’s super cute on the inside!
Dustin’s wife is a tea drinker though, so we stopped in to get some tea for ourselves and to bring back home to her!
Both of us got the Pineapple Tea, extra sweet, which was really good!
Hash House A Go Go!
Hash House A Go Go has become one of my favorite restaurants in Las Vegas! It was my first time going here but I absolutely LOVED it!
The restaurant is a very rustic, country, farm style place! The inside is decorated as such too! Their food was AMAZING and I love love loved their Nitro Cold Brew Coffee! First time having that too and it was so yummy!
Be for-warned though, the portions are MASSIVE! I ended up taking most of mine home since I couldn’t eat it all. But I highly recommend stopping by the Hash House A Go Go to eat!
