This past Friday I attended and photographed the HiCaliber Horseshoe Gala fundraising event at The Patio at 207 in San Clemente, CA! I photographed the event and my awesome husband ran the photo booth, which I am SUPER thankful for!!!
A couple of months ago when I was meeting with one of the wedding and event planners that I’m networking with, Dyana Padilla, from Eventually Events, she mentioned that she was helping plan this event with her friend, Bri Alvarez, and asked me if I’d like to help with it too! As soon as she told me it was for a horse rescue fundraiser, I was in!
For those of you that do know me and those of you getting to know me, one thing that has been a HUGE part of my life has been horses. All through high school I wanted to save horses from slaughter and it’s always been my dream to one day own a ranch larch enough so I can rescue some horses of my own. In one of my high school classes we had to write a letter to one of the senators about something we wanted to change and something that we were passionate about. I wrote to the senator about passing the law for it to be illegal to slaughter horses in the United States. My letter was heard and I got a real response back from the senator letting me know that he was indeed on our side for banning horse slaughtering in the USA, very few of my classmates got a real response back!
Fast forward to the day of the event! The HiCaliber horse rescue fundraiser was AMAZING!!! People who love and supported HiCaliber came to the event to support them and help raise money to rescue more horses from slaughter each week! It was a night full of celebration, spending time with friends, laughing, drunken dancing, and showing our appreciation for all of the amazing people behind the HiCaliber horse rescue team!!!!
