Hello to all the lovely brides and grooms to be planning their wedding!!!
“Create a timeline for the day of the wedding!” Tip Tuesday by Kayla Illies Photography. Oceanside based wedding, elopement, and engagement photographer.
This tip comes from personal and professional experience. My professional experience being that I’ve seen several weddings where the entire day was disorganized and the couple that was getting married that day was stressed out along with the family who was trying to help them. It wasn’t a pretty sight. Having seen this countless times I always recommend to my bride and grooms that they create a wedding day timeline with all of the events happening that day, the time they’re supposed to start, the time they’re supposed to end, location for each event, addresses for ceremony and reception, and to list out the names of all the people who are supposed to be at each event. I suggest distributing them to your wedding vendors, wedding party, immediate family, personal attendants, and other key people the day before during the rehearsal so they have a chance to look over it the night before. I also suggest to redistribute it again the morning of the wedding to those same people just in case they forgot them at home.
Creating this timeline can be daunting but it’s vital to making your wedding run smoothly, stay organized, and for everyone to stay on time. For those of you that have hired a wedding planner, you can ask your wedding planner to create it for you if they didn’t plan on doing it already. For those of you that didn’t hire a wedding planner, you can create it yourself or you can ask your photographer to help you create it since your wedding photographer will need to plan out the best times to do the wedding photography throughout the day anyways.
One of the perks of booking your wedding photography with Kayla Illies Photography is that I offer this service to my clients complimentary because I KNOW the struggles of not having the wedding day organized and I want to ensure that your wedding goes as smoothly as possible for you so you’re able to enjoy every second of it without worrying! If you’ve also hired a wedding planner I will work with them to create the timeline so we’ll still have the best time of day to do photographs!!! (Hint: The best time April-September is at 6 pm and the best time October-March is 4 pm here in Southern California!)
