Romantic Idyllwild Engagement Session | Chuck & Stacy
How Stacy and I met:
Stacy, from Sylver Weddings and Events, is one of my wedding planner friends I met at a networking event in Temecula, CA! The day I met Stacy I knew we’d be friends! Our personalities just CLICKED! Her awesome blunt, very down to Earth, go getting, and determined attitude for her business matched mine perfectly! When Stacy told the Temecula Wedding Vendors group that she was getting married this upcoming April, I put the bug in her ear about working together for her wedding! We met for cupcakes at this SUPER YUMMY bakery in Temecula and planned out the details!
The Idyllwild Engagement Session Details:
Stacy kept mentioning her favorite place to vacation was up in Idyllwild and about her favorite spot at the Idyllwild Nature Center! I always encourage my couples to choose a location for their engagement session that has meaning to both of them, so we chose to do their romantic Idyllwild engagement session there!
I had never been to Idyllwild before! My husband and I headed up there a few hours early to explore the cute little town of Idyllwild as tourists and to scout the location at the Idyllwild Nature Center! Idyllwild, CA was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The ENDLESS wooded areas, the towering trees, the beautiful forest floor, the giant boulders, the sweeping view of the mountains valleys, and the large cliffs that were all around us were simply BREATHTAKING! I could stay there forever and just gaze at it all!
Though Chuck and Stacy may be an older, not quite so romantic couple, they sure were sweet and romantic together on the day of their engagement session! His face lit up every time he looked at her and she couldn’t stop smiling or pulling him in for a kiss! Melts my heart so see their joy and happiness for each other!
I’m so thankful they chose me to be their wedding photographer!!! I’m DEFINITELY looking forward to their beautiful wedding ceremony at Wayfarers Chapel and their wedding reception at the South Coast Botanical Garden in Palos Verdes this coming April!!!!
How they met:
Chuck and Stacy met back in 2002 while they were working together at Hilton Reservations Worldwide. Stacy kept noticing Chuck around while they worked and she really liked him. Stacy is definitely NOT a shy person, so she bought some locally grown strawberries and shared them with Chuck one day to show how much she liked him! Stacy was going through a rough patch with her ex husband at that point and Chuck took her under his wing like a gentlemen to help her out and keep her safe! Soon after they started dating, with one rule, NO animals! Well, lets just say Stacy doesn’t exactly take no for an answer! To this day they foster pets in their homes until they’re ready to go home with their new families and they save strays to bring them back to health to find them a good home too!
Chuck and Stacy aren’t the traditional type of couple, so they didn’t have a traditional engagement either! They dated for several years and Stacy had told Chuck up front that she wouldn’t marry him until she had a house, a car, and a horse (Yay for horse lovers!)!!! Well the house and the car were bought but the horse never was (yet!). Stacy got tired of waiting for Chuck to propose, so she bought her own engagement ring and it arrived in time for Valentines Day! Once the ring arrived, Chuck picked out the wedding band to go with the ring!
Some of their favorite things to do together:
- Annoy and embarrass their kids!
- Take trips to the mountains to go on picnics, go camping, and explore the area! Their favorite spot is up in Idyllwild where we did their engagement session at the San Bernardino National Park!
- Stargazing together out in the middle of the country! (before the kiddos came along!)
One of their favorite funny stories together:
Remember the NO PETS rule that Chuck gave Stacy when they first started dating? Like I said, Stacy doesn’t take no for an answer very often (or ever!)! This story is about a little abandoned kitten named Rascal!
About a week or so into their relationship they were at McDonalds in Sun City. Outside in the bushes was a scared, hungry orphaned kitten. Stacy made Chuck wait for over two hours while she coaxed the kitten out of the bushes with fries. Yup good ole’ McDonalds french fries! Once she coaxed the kitten out of the bushes they took him home to nurture him back to health and to give him a home!
Two hours after being in their home, Rascal snuck into their bedroom at 2 am and ATTACKED Chucks feet with full claws and teeth, then raced off! They had Rascal for YEARS after that! I still can’t stop laughing when Stacy told me this story!
To this day Chuck and Stacy take in stray animals and foster pets, Chuck grumbles about having another animal in the house, but then goes ahead and gives them names!
