Hey there to all the lovely bride and grooms planning their wedding day!
It’s another beautiful day here in sunny SoCal and I’m super excited to bring you another awesome Tip Tuesday!!!
“Don’t rush to pick your wedding party.” Tip Tuesday by Kayla Illies Photography. Southern California based wedding, elopement, and engagement photographer.
We all know how exciting it is to choose the people in your wedding party! We’ve all been there! My tip for you today is to NOT rush into picking your wedding party. Take a moment to sit down, make a list of all of your close friends or family, and narrow it down to your CLOSEST friends and your family. You shouldn’t feel obligated to choose certain people. Remember this is YOUR wedding day! Choose the people that you want standing up there with you on the day of your wedding and the people who will be there for you years down the road!!!
Traditionally you would choose your siblings and brother or sister in laws to be in your wedding first, then you would add in your friends, but don’t be afraid to mix things up a bit! It’s the 21st century after all! If you have a best guy friend, make him your “Man of Honor” instead of having a traditional “Maid of Honor”, same for the groomsmen, don’t be afraid to do a “Best Woman” instead of having a traditional “Best Man” if your best friend is a woman!
Also when you’re choosing your wedding party, think about how many people you want in your wedding party to help you narrow it down too, but don’t be afraid to have a larger number of bridesmaids or groomsmen if that’s how many people you want in your wedding party! There’s no set number! It’s completely up to you! Your wedding photographer will know how to accommodate a large wedding party, just make sure that you let them know how many will be in your wedding party before the day of the wedding so your wedding photographer has time to make arrangements if needed on locations!
